Love Hodsons. Usually pop on here on my way home from somewhere, if I've been anywhere on the train, I'll pop into town and Hodsons is the first place I go. They always have great fish, usually cooked to order unless youre in at a really busy time and the precook to a degree. Chips are always great too, I've never had so much as a single dicey chip (no green ones!) Hodsons use recyclable packaging, card boxes for fish and chips, and paper bags to carry it, that's a nice touch, no polystyreneand no plastics. I've not eaten in at the restaurant, but it always looks nice enough for a chippy, and more often than not someone is eating in there so that speaks volumes. I'd happily give Hodsons an 8/10 overall, they're really very good.
A clean and tidy establishment staffed by very friendly people. We ordered the usual fish and chips and we weren't disappointed. The fish was fresh and the chips tasted good with a good crunch to it. At that time of the day in the evening parking wasn't a problem as there was a ready spot right in front of the shop. Highly recommended.

We are locals but first timers at Barneys. I am quite fussy eating out so I wasn't expecting much. I have to say I was very impressed with the quality of the fish and chips. The fish was perfectly cooked with a crispy batter and the chips were freshly cooked while we waited for a few minutes. The staff were very pleasant and presentable. Barneys displays a five star hygeine rating on the entrance door. Barneys will in future be our number one choice for fish and chips in Huntingdon.
Easily the best chippy around! I travel from St Ives due to the quality and taste which is almost guaranteed each visit. Staff are always friendly and work hard to serve you promptly.
